Cheap way to buffer and polish evenly

Ive been building models quite some time and recently found a cheap way to polish without making ur hands damn tired, and dsnt have to go thru ur wallet for those buffer machines that cost 200$ and which dsnt realli work on model kits bcos of the power the have...
the simple solution here is a cheap deskfan or those portable small ones that u get for free sometimes in summer....here i used a cheap 5$ deskfan which is able to be dismantled....

the fan cover and blade is taken off at ease
just slides off....and can be put back on wehn i realli need a fan...
then i just got some foam, cut out a circular piece and stick some microfibre cloth on it...and poke the foam piece thru the spoke of the fan in the middel.....
turn the fan on and start buffing!!
turns out to be more even than using my fingers

Re: Cheap way to buffer and polish evenly

Cool idea, but it's probably a little too easy to burn though the paint with it. How fast does it go?

I'm planing doing something similar with a cheap electrical tooth brush (it costs some 8€).

Great idea! Hopefully I'll be able to finish my damn models now without giving up through lack of motivation.

Re: Cheap way to buffer and polish evenly

Any one tried using the Mother's Mini Power Ball? I have one that I use for polishing aluminum wheels and what not but I was thinking about trying it on a model the other night...any thoughts?
