It is a little rare that the engine would run for a while then die, and turn out to be a bad fuel pump. Usually a bad fuel pump will not start the engine at all or die on you without warning, but once they die, they're usually toast and won't start the engine again. Please be so kind as to tell us how you diagnosed the bad fuel pump and elaborate on your experience. Thanks for posting back.

Re: 98 S10 blazer runs and then dies
when the truck was running I pressed the valve on the fuel rail and the fuel barley came out, plus the pump was real loud. With the new pump when I pressed the valve on the fuel rail the fuel sprayed out and the new pump was real quite. I had no pressure tester. So for all is still well.

Re: 98 S10 blazer runs and then dies
I've relaced a few airtex pumps that do this. I think the fuel pump motor gets hot and quits working. It cools down quikly because it's submerged in gasoline and will run again after just a few minutes. The pressure will test fine at first but if you test it right after it dies you'll find the pressure is too low.
