alignment issues with steering column sensors
Is there an issue with getting a straight sterring wheel with a problem with this sensor?

You don't mention a model year...or the steering wheel "sensor" you are asking about. If you are talking about the SRS (air bag) system, then steering wheels are not replaceable with non-SRS versions. More info would help.
If you mean having a straight steering wheel (not turned left or right) while driving straight, then you'll need a wheel alignment done...they'll adjust the tie rod lengths to strighten out the steering wheel position. Hope this helps!
