Re: help with Ignition coils

If the spark is jumping out of coil or wire you have a problem.

Start with checking the coil and plug wirres.
Make sure spark plugs are good cap and rotor are good to.

Re: help with Ignition coils

hello,

yes its coming out of bottom of the wire that is on the ignition coil and hitting the metal wall of the ignition coil..
is there supposed to be any open spark anywhere.
because i have one there and it goes tick tick tick tick tick tick real fast and every time a spark comes out.
if i can i will try and get a little video of it.

so what could that be and what should i replace.

Re: help with Ignition coils

see this pic.

where the arrows come from at the bottom of where the wire would be.thats where the spark comes from.and hits that metal post that the arrows point to but on the bottom wheer the spark plug ends.across from there on that metal wall on the ignition coil.

is that normal?and if not what could be causing it

Re: help with Ignition coils

Check and replace the plug and coil wires and check dist cap and rotor and plugs.

If spark can not go threw wires and cap and plugs it will find a way out some place.

Re: help with Ignition coils

It should not have spark there.
Replace the plug and coil wires and check spark plugs and dist cap and rotor.

If spark can not go from coil threw wires and cap and rotor to plugs it will burn threw and jump out the weakest point.
Which it is doing now.

If after good plug wires and cap and rotor and plugs it still jumps out there replace the coil but only after good wires cap and pulgs.
