STARTER resin models

I've been itching to try my hand at a resin model as of late, and I have the opportunity to grab one in 1/43 scale, made by STARTER. I've heard that their quality is...sub-standard at best, but I'm wondering if I can get any further information on them? The price is fair enough that it won't matter if it sits on my shelf forever, but I want to know what to expect if I purchase it.
It's of a Ford Escort (Great looking car) and looks like it could be a fun project, especially since I started with 1/43 scale Modifiers. If anything, it might turn out to be a good investment for practice before I decide to get a higher-end, more expensive kit.

Any feedback?

I have built a few starter kits. Just be ready for sanding lines off, maybe some filling and sanding. THey are not the best quality but not the worst I have seen. IIRC Provalanc Monlauge or something like that bought them so a starter kit may be a older kit.

I have built a few of them and they can turn out to be nice models. There bodies always looked right and they often put out cars you couldn't get anywhere else.

Starter was one of the french manufacterers leading the market in the 80's / 90's...
Their kits are quite fine and accurate, but you may have some trouble with the decals as they are often damaged with age consequences...
concerning the escort (I think you mean escort cosworth rally car ?) you have to know that the roll cage is molded inside the body and you only have the rear cross to add to complete it... and most if not all parts of the inside are molded on the chassis (nothing to deal with tamiya models for example).
