1999 LSE "Low Coolant" light
I have a 1999 LSE 3.8L 140k miles runs like a top. My "Low Coolant" light comes on intermittently. I must be losing coolant slowly as I have added about 3/4 of DEXCOOL over the last 5 months. There are never any spots on the ground or moisture on the hoses or connections. The engine temperature gauge never goes beyond 3/8ths even during the summer heat with the A/C cranking.
Does anyone know what might be the problem? |

Re: 1999 LSE "Low Coolant" light
Hopefully it is just the coolant level sensor, but if you are adding coolant and don't have any visable leaks, it may be the typical upper intake manifold (UIM) failure. Better have this checked out quick before coolant mixes with the oil and engine damage occurs. Click Here for part numbers. Click Here for view of good replacement.
