97 Park Avenue check vehicle soon light

97 Park Avenue 155,000 miles in good condition
Check Vehicle Light came on. I immediately started scrolling though my diigital readouts for gauge information. When I hit Battery Status I got ????, instead of 13.7volts that it had earlier displayed. I stopped and put my voltmeter on the battery and got a 14.1volt reading. Since then, the air bag light has come on (and stays on), the interior lights (dome and courtesy) do not work, and the trunk release button does not work (but it works via the key remote). I have cleaned all the contacts at the battery and fuse blocks under the hood (which made the check vehicle light go out). And I removed all the fuses and checked them with an ohm meter. All to no avail! Please advise if you know what I might try next. Thanks!
P.S. the car runs and drives fine, otherwise...

No quick answer here try and and get a wiring diagram andssee what is common to these circuits either on the power or ground side, be careful with air bags do not try and check that specific circuit without the proper how to.

You may have already searched this forum for answers, but you might want to looks at the long running thread entitled, "1995 Buick Park Avenue Just Dies - No Warning."
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...=921441&page=3

Post #37 has some good pictures of the ground distribution on the driver's side floor near the door. This seems like an area that could get wet and corrode the ground connections.

I can't say this is where your problem lies, as there are other ground points around the chassis. But it may give you some ideas how wiring is distributed in the car.

It's pretty much got to be a power or ground problem. As the earlier poster said, get a wiring diagram and look for the common points (+/-) between the problem areas.

Good Luck!!
