strange issue with my car that i thought i fixed...

well i had an issue with my rpm needle goin way down then bouncing up and back down pretty rappedly as i began to accel from 0mph and after a few seconds the car gives out but it will turn right back on and works better with no radio no lights on so i took it to auto zone the folowing day they said my altinater is bad so i bought a new altinater and charged my battery last night sure enought next morning i go to accel at the stop sign and bam same thing happen so i turn radio off runs ok and drove back to my house and here i am missing work again if anyone has some clues ideas anything i would truely appreciate it

hi try replacing the coil in the distrubuter as this is what controls the rev counter

Before pouring money and trying to shoot with closed eyes, I would start with basic.

Check your spark plug wires: how do they look, is there any visible cracks?

How old your spark plugs, distributor cap?

See if this thread is the same as your problem, you didn't say what year and engine you have.

Third post down I think gives the solution if you have the 95-97 with V6.
