racing slow cars can be fun

me and the bro have been going back and forth about whos car is faster. me driven both cars, know that mine will pull off the line, and ill beat him in the top end. he is still ignorant to realize this, and it goes back and forth, for quite some time.

i also started winterizing the car, and converted my cai to a wai. its quite a bit louder, but the cai was more linear power wise. the wai is more top end.

my brother was recently given an auto 06 corolla s(lucky bastard). he has the whole tints and speakers things going.

i couldnt take it anymore and basically just called him out on it. i guess that worked finally.

we went to a light on the way home, and basically stopped and had a good 20 seconds before the light turned green. he was just holding the brake, waiting for it to turn green to go wot. i was brake-gas'ing it at about 2400. light turns green, and i get the jump.

it squeals the tires just enough to launch decently and not bog, then just goes. first gear is about 40 mph and im ahead by about 2 cars.

Me =======
Bro ====

it shifts to second and i pull a bit more and this one winds out to around 65.

Me ===============
Bro =======

and we let off. im about 3 cars ahead by this point.

get to the next light and he wants another go. i get at the light first and completly stops, and he is rolling. light turns green and he is about a car ahead of me with about a 5-6mph roll. i brake-gas again but only around 2k this time.

Me ==
Bro =====

winds out first and im gaining him quickly.

Me ========
Bro =========

i begin to reel him in, and catch up by the end of 2nd. winds out 2nd around 65mph

Me ==============
Bro ==============

shifts to 3rd and i start to inch ahead. im basically a hood ahead by 85. i shut down due to car getting in my lane.

it was fun, i can rub it into his face, but all in all, these are mid-low 17 second cars lol. i was waiting for the mustang to pop outta no where and pass us both.

Re: racing slow cars can be fun

Man it was like I was actually there in the car! The wind in my hair, the feeling of speed....

Nice cinematography!

My brother was the same way. He got a Focus 2 door and thought it was the fastest thing on the planet. Got a few Ebay mods and wanted to race me. I had only my maxima at the time but I told him ok. We lined up one day and I got a good launch off. It looked like this

Um? Lucky? Okkkkkkkkkkkkk.

If he was lucky, I'd hate to see what sort of Gitmo torture you have to go through.

Otherwise, good race, sounds like fun. I miss having a car that was fun...

lucky in terms of basically having a brand new car as he doesnt have to deal with rust.

His car is 5 years newer... it's not like you're driving a '74 Buick Skylark or something.

I just realized that TheStig has The LawDog in his signature, and is therefore truly wise.
