95 apv, speedometer doesn't work

how do I konw if I have the 3spd or 4spd? my shift indicator says P R N D 2 1

I pulled the code 24 and the description says:
Vehicle speed sensor signal showed less than 5 MPH for 4 seconds when engine speed was greater than 3000 RPM and transmission was not in park or neutral.
Does this mean the speed sensor is not working? To me it looks like it is and something else is the issue. Any help would be nice.

i have the same prob but when mine happens my tranny dont shift

i was on freeway doing 70 and then bam my speedo droped too 0 and my tranny started slipping any ideas ? i got a 3.4 4 speed 1996
