Cop Cars

Whats the most unsuspecting cop car have you have seen. And has anyone ever been pulled over by undercover police (I have).

To day I seen a Chevy Equinox undercover police car. I just thought that was weird. I mean nothing police about it. I doubt it could even keep up in a chase.

Re: Cop Cars

Saw a minivan cop car once, that was fairly shocking. Coolest one I saw was an old Sting Ray in full colors and lights.

Re: Cop Cars

Around my area, Caprices are still the norm, so they stand out even if unmarked. Some of the locals have been running the Lincoln's, but in my area they still stand out. This area won't budget any "sneaky-petes" cars, so I'm safe, can spot those dudes too easy. And, very few few if any of the local drivers drive either of the cop-cars, so double-tag back, LMAO.

Re: Cop Cars

Our State Police still use a Camaro for speed enforcement on the major highways, but nothing out of the norm in the past few years. Back in the late '80s to mid '90s the city police liked to use Chevy Celebritys as unmarked cars. They used to hide in parking lots and "blend in" with other cars while using their radar on unsuspecting drivers.

Re: Cop Cars

Best one that I saw was back in the 80's when CT State Police were using unmarked Buick Grand Nationals for highway pursuit. In the Hartford area there was rumor of a twin turbo 'vette, taken in a drug bust, being used for highway pursuit. I never saw the 'vette but did see a couple of the Grand Nationals.

When I was stationed in Hawaii, the HPD (Hawaii PD or Honolulu PD, depending on where you were at the time) pretty much used thier own personal vehicles, so I saw Monte SS's, Camaros, Mustangs. All kinds of cars. I got pulled over on my Harley by an HPD Officer in as S-10 Blazer.

NY State Troopers, at least where I live, are pretty standard: Crown Vics and Suburbans.

Re: Cop Cars

I was being tailed by a Ford Explorer. I had the music up, feelin great, and driving a little hard but completely within the limits. This explorer followed me for several blocks. I figured they were just messin with me. When I pulled into the left turn lane it pulled up nex to me. It was a cop - a female cop. She pulled her glasses down her nose and gave me the best "disaproving mom" look I had seen in a long time. I felt like a little girl being scolded by my mom! hahahahahaha.

I have seen an undercover in a neon. And we have some now that are driving new chargers. They look pretty good actually - with the black and white paintjob etc.

Re: Cop Cars

I forgot to add that in the city they still use a late '80s era Plymouth Acclaim mainly for traffic/parking enforcement. It is this real odd hue of a baby blue, kind of a municipal blue that I've seen on cop cars in other cities,( our city cops had that color as a standard in the '80s to early '90s,) and this car is a holdover from that era. It stands out among other vehicles when it's out and about.

Re: Cop Cars

The first time I was ever at a party that got busted up, the first car to pull up with those police lights flashing was a black Toyota Tundra! The windows were tinted black and there were strobes hidden everywhere. Never saw the truck before that and never saw it again!

Re: Cop Cars

Saw an SRT-8 Jeep with a REALLY REALLY nice Whelen package. I was so amazed that I got off the next exit and went around to see if he needed anything(The car had smoke spewing from the hood and under the engine bay, I am a Vollie FF, and buff) just to find out what kind of light package he had, ended up having a 25 minute conversation about cars and the like, poor person that got pulled over.
