Cams generally don't do shit for a Maxima. If you get them, they should be one of your last mods.

maybe someone with a 300z who has added cams to a none- turbo could help out. There engine and the max is pretty close, right.

Now, instead of thinking of them as an increase modification, could new cams be used more as a preventative maintainance item.. like if you were going turbo or something?

The N/A 300zx and the VQ30 engines aren't that close at all. One of the reasons we find that headers and cams don't do much is because that engine is so well built out of the factory, the only thing you can tweak is the airflow, exhaust, and weight. Think about it. Intake, y-pipe, cat, exhaust, ECU, udp. These are all mods on airflow, exhaust, and weight.

Pick, all the parts you brought up are all easy r&d parts. Think about it all are outside the engine. and there is no ecu for 5gen max. I takes some serious time and money to develope a cam system. and make it at lest driveable, and not break or change valve springs, seats, valves or interfere with ecu error codes. o and lets not forget, its got to make hp.Imagine going to all the trouble of making cams and only getting 5hp.you would loss money because no one would buy it.

Why don't you get together with somebody on Maxima.org and find out. It would be interesting research.
