Re: spitting coolant under the water pump
I'd say so....waterpumps are cheap and easy to replace on these motors....replace it and see where it gets you....

Re: spitting coolant under the water pump
Ditto... Don't let the fact that there ain't no space between the wheel well and the front of the motor hinder you, it is tight quarters but the pump is relatively easy to change out on this motor. The real issue is the visibility of the seal surfaces, give them a good feel before and after cleaning them off to make sure your new pump will make a good seal.

Re: spitting coolant under the water pump
Also a good time to replace that serpentine belt if it is older than 60k mi. Ensure the belt tensinoner is still in good condition as well.

Re: spitting coolant under the water pump
the water pump has a special way to go in ,the paper that comes with the new pump will tell you how to position it.be sure to loosen the waterpump pulley bolts before you take off the serp belt. just loosen the bolts don't remove them until the serp belt is removed. then once you have the new pump ojn and serp belt back on tighten the waterpump pully bolts.
