1995 chevy s-10 blazer turn signals working intermittently

I checked the fuse and replaced the turn signal flasher. Hazards work fine. all bulbs ok. After replacing flasher turn signals worked for 2 days. This is my mothers truck so I am trying to keep it safe for her. I have tried checking old threads on the forums that discuss this problem but they don't have any answers.

Re: 1995 chevy s-10 blazer turn signals working intermittently

thanks OLD MASTER but That will have to wait for a long weekend off work. I read in another thread about relays in the glove box. Would this apply to mom's truck? By the way it is a 4wd 4 dr LS that is on its 3rd motor and 2nd tranny 145000 on the milage of truck itself. Also what about ignition switch I have seen this mentioned a few times as well? When problem first started she said that after driving around for a while they would start working then quit again. As I said when I changed the Flasher they didn't work before but as soon asI plugged the new flasher in they worked.

Re: 1995 chevy s-10 blazer turn signals working intermittently

Going on your description of the symptoms, I would suspect a common denominator, (something common to both directions of the turn signals). The 4 way flashers operate both turn signals simultaneously, and they work fine, which means those circuits are fine, and the problem is before the 4 way switch. The turn signal switch operates them independently, I'd look there first. The ignition switch is a possibility, however, 97 was a known problem year for the switch, not 95. Did you replace the 4 way flasher or the T/S flasher?

Re: 1995 chevy s-10 blazer turn signals working intermittently

I replaced the turn signal flasher. The four ways are working, that is what she is using to signal when she is going to turn right now. She told me today that the dealership replaced the multi function switch 4 - 5 yrs ago because the brake lights were not working. Any other new information that I get I will post. Thanks for the help I am going to trade vehicles with her and put hers in the garage and start pulling the column apart this weekend.

Turns out the new flasher I installed burnt out after 2 days. I bought one from advance auto and installed no problems since.
