What engine oil to use on my -92 5.0?
Hi all,
I´ve just bought a 92 tbird 5.0 and I´m trying to figure out if I can use a ACEA Cx classed engine oil or if I should stick with the more "fits-all" Ax/Bx classed ones. 5W30 is the viscosity I found out I should use? Why I´m looking towards the C-classed is that it should improve MPG but on ACEA:s webpages it states that C-klass oils are not suited for all engines. Since the C-class came after my car was born it doesn´t say anything about it in the owner guide. I know ACEA is a European thing but some of You maybe know how to compare it to SAE or american equivalent organisation? I´m going for 5W since I live in Sweden and it gets pretty cold ![]() The 30 should be OK since the engine looks really clean with no leaks or black smoke so I believe the engine is in pretty good shape. Can someone help me out, what do You use in Your 5.0 Tbirds? BTW: feels great to drive but a lil bit funny since my other V8 daily driver is a Buick Roadmaster Wagon, it´s like going from a big boat to a champ car

Re: What engine oil to use on my -92 5.0?
Hello Benny, Most major oil company's websites have a "contact us" icon that you can click on to ask questions about their products and what they recommend for your automobile. That would be your best source of information about the oils available in Sweden. Some oil companys have different websites based on certain areas of the world so check for that also.
