6th gen hood won't open/hiss under the hood

not sure on the year, it's a friend's car. anyway there is a hiss coming from the engine bay. not sure what it is. went to open the hood to check it out but it won't open. is there another way to open the hood?


while i'm posting, does anybody have experience with a "hiss" under the hood? what could it be?
