2001 Rotors

Hello Again
I did browse thru the old threads about front rotors but faied to see any reference to my little issue.
I do have a shop manual on disc and it fails to mention it as well, the rotor is pressed onto the hub and then bolted, what is the preferred method of separation?
It is an01 Rodeo sport,V-6 3.2L
I have it soaking with Kroil a favorite of mine-great penetrating oil.
To drive it apart, it is on two blocks of wood but the striking surface will then be the grease seal hub?!,I am thinking of heating the rotor to expand it around the hub and then drive it with another block and a lump hammer,I am trying not to damage the grease seal but maybe that is a waste of time since the bearing should be repacked and inspected.
So does anyone have another method?
Thanks for the help(past and present)Happy Halloween
Carl

Re: 2001 Rotors

Ryan,
Thanks for a very informative and detailed response.Unfortunately the job task performed did not involve removing the rotor from the hub, which is what I need to do.
It soaked all night and will be heated with a turbo torch(air/Acet-not oxy)to help the kroil work through and I will drive it thru with a block of wood, new seals have been ordered.
If it works nice and I can figure out how to post pix I will add them.Carl

Re: 2001 Rotors

Well I got them separated,a little heat, penetrating oil,and a few good shots with a 4# lump hammer,it worked but if you know a better method I still have to do the other side?
Thanks Carl
