Well on the way to work today my Engine Service light went on and stays on. I have a 1998 grand prix GTP. I looked up in the owners manual and it might some suggestions about change of gas type and gas cover. But, I haven't changed anything. Can you suggest a few starting point to check. Thanks alot

Get it scanned with an odb-ii scanner/scan tool and see what DTC is causing the SES/CEL light otherwise you/we would be speculating as to the cause. Also, check the gas cap to make sure it is tight. A couple of right turns and listen for the clicking sound.

Yes, Stop by Autozone or Advanced - or the like, and let them read your code for free that has been set- and report back-- Don't buy into their "advice" until you post back...remember, they are there to sell parts...

i had the same problem and all i had to do was changed the gas cap. i had bought the car and it had the wrong cap on it.
