2000 bravada distributor problems

I changed the intake manifold gasket and failed to mark the distributor for replacement...I got it to start and it runs, but it is still misfiring and runs real crappy, gas mileage has gone down, first question is; will this ruin the car further to drive it like this, and second; do you have any suggestions on how to fine tune the distributor on my own? thank you in advance for your help.

Static timing. Bring cylinder #1 near top squeeze stroke, make sure you're not on exhaust, and then note where #1 spark plug wire connects to the distributor. Pull the cap, and confirm that the rotor is where the cap #1 connector is.

Then lastly, confirm by the timing mark.
