97 GTP supercharger rattle?
Just installed the rebuilt motor into this car and now I can here a dull rattle at idle. Can I run the car without the supercharger belt to troubleshoot? Could it be the supercharger rattling? I glanced over a TSB about the supercharger noses going bad.

Quote:
SC rattle is typically a worn out coupler. Bad snout bearings make a different sound.

Re: 97 GTP supercharger rattle?
Thanks for the response. I'm not familiar with SC's. Is the coupler difficult or expensive to repair?

Re: 97 GTP supercharger rattle?
We should have a coupler replacement procedure posted at our Tips & Maintenance forum. Part runs around $30. See link below for Eaton M90 Gen3 blower parts.
Click here Just remove the SC drive belt, remove/drain the SC oil and remove the snout. Plus you will need 1 and 1/2 bottles of GM supercharger oil. Part # 12345982.
