Angry High Beam Problem (Not Working)

Hello all,
I have a 2000 Monte Carlo (3.4L engine @ 78,000 miles). My high beam lights aren't working when i pull the lever toward me. When i pull the lever to switch to high beam, i see the little high beam blue light on the instrument panel but the high beam lights do not remain activated. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks

Re: High Beam Problem (Not Working)

I have the same problem. I just got my car 2 weeks ago. I'm assuming it needs a new light switch lever, which cost about $273 for the AC Delco brand. I guess I will continue to manally hold it back when I drive at night (or check at the local salvage yard for a used one).

Angry Re: High Beam Problem (Not Working)

Thanks for responding! i will go to a salvage yard also before i pay $273 for this particular part. I hadn't ever had a problem with this part on any other GM or FORD vehicle that i own. i wonder if there was some sort of defect in these parts while being manufacture. Seems very odd to me for such part to go bad especially considiering the low mileage 78,000 on my vehicle. In addition to that, the high beam lights are used much less than the low beam lights.
