1:24 Revell Plymouth GTX 1971 Plum Crazy

So, this is my latest finished build. It's a Plymoutg GTX '71, one of my favourite muscle cars. This looks just mean.

Primer: Gray Tamiya primer
Paint: Zero Paints Plum Crazy
Clear coat: 2k Zero (pre-thinned)

It's pretty much OOb, except I've made some modifications. They are:
- new exhaust pipes and collectors,
- weathered and drybrushed the undercarriage,
- flocking in the cabin,
- 2 magazines on the back seats,
- photoetched key and lockers,
- a lot of BMF chrome,
- wash on wheels and in the engine bay,
- wiring in the engine bay
- …

Ask me, if you want to know anything.

Wow, it does show how mean it is... very cool mate. Like the front grill very much. Looks very real on the photos you showed us.

Cheers

Buddy

Impressive model, very realistic!
The paint job is stunning and the details are very well done.

Very nice work! I'm building the same model and hoping maybe you can help me out. How did you get the "molded-in" side marker lights to look so real? Clear orange/red over silver?

Superbly done with excellent attention to detail and a very clean finish. Not too keen on the flat black door mirrors but that is just personal preference. It is also a shame that the hood does not appear to fit very well (although I know that is often a problem on these kits) and you did not blend in the front valance to avoid the join line. The front grille is very impressive, I would like to know how you did it.

Re: 1:24 Revell Plymouth GTX 1971 Plum Crazy

Thanks, guys! I'm glad you like it.

Jimmy'Z: I have first masked squares and paint them with tamiya acryl XF-01. Then I have just put on the original decal, without black line around the red/orange blinkers.

Viccario: Hmmm, I I always wanted to have matt black rear mirrors. The hood is really bad, I was trying to sand just to fit correct, but I coundn't made it (It's Revell!). The front grill was easy to made. I just take originally chromed grill and paint it with brush and tamiya acryl X-18. After 3 minutes I just wipe out the paint on the top of the grill with those ear rods (?), don't know the right word.

Thanks for 5 stars.

Regards, David

Wow, this is a stunning build, from the ultimate paint shine to the chasis weathering. Great build, makes me try out the zero paints.

Man, you nailed this. That just captures it beautifully. I agree, very artistic and realistic.

I love the scrape marks on the underside, along with the weathering detain on the manifold, and the rest of the car. Good job boss.

Beautifully built and very clean. This is a real show winner of a model. Very good photography as well.
