OMG!! Plastic chassis with limited detail! Maybe tami wants to make a comeback. Little steps....

Doesn't the real car come with plated bottoms? I remember building the tamiya nismo clarion gt-r with fairly detailed underchassis, only to be covered and hidden from plain site upon completion.

Re: Tamiya Super GT500 Xanavi Nissan R35 GT-R Race version

I just got this kit in the mail today, very nice kit. And I have a question...is it safe to clear coat the chrome parts? I have never sprayed clear over chrome and I am not sure if some brands (Tamiya, Gunze or Zero Paints) will cause it to craze.

It will only soften the chrome effect, that's what it did on my alclad on the MP4/22

hmm...then perhaps I will use Future Floor Polish on the chrome parts then to seal in the decals.

Nope. However I also don't like the R35 or the Evo X at all.

Tamiya's race cars just keep getting more and more expensive. Cool kit but I'm not paying 40 dollars for it.
