Question electrical issues

I bought my Golf earlier this year and knew it had some issues, however, the electrical problems were not mentioned. This is my first car and I really do not know a lot about cars. Last night I was pulled over by a policeman and he told me none of my lights were working... then asked why I was driving with a flashlight... Well, I thought I blew a fuse regarding my internal lights (speedometer and such), nope it's all gone with the exception of my front lights and the radio. The cigarrette lighter never worked and nor did my radiator fan. IT seemed in order for myself to get warm I had to be driving for at least ten minutes (pressure from the engine pushed heat through the vents). I explained to the Policeman that my wheel alignment is off and my tires on one side have slow leaks but this just blew me away... now the lights. I just had my Golf looked at for heat issue which I was told was not a problem, I paid 70.00 dollars to be told I was crazy , when I get that for free everyday. My question is: Where do I go to get this fixed for a minor price and not be mislead? I need a place in Edmonton. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
