99 Grand Marquis (crown Vic): Fog / Condenstation INSIDE Headlight Lens
About two weeks ago, after driving in steady-rain, I noticed that my right-side headlight had accumulated a small-to-fair ammount of condensate, on the inside of the plastic lens. This has never been a problem before but, I hadn't driven in the rain in 2-3 months so, the CAUSE of the problem could've been there for 3 or more months, & I'm just-now finding-out about it.
TROUBLESHOOTING: My first thought lies w/ the rubber, angled vent-spouts that come out of the back of the headlight housing-- clogged, out of alignment, missing, etc. HOWEVER, I'm not real familiar w/ THAT part o' the car & don't want to go haphazardly poppin' tabs & unscrewin' stuff, and possibly throwing something out of alignment, etc..... Any thoughts about whether or not I'm on the right track? ________ WENDIE 99 Last edited by LieutenantCracker; 04-21-2011 at 06:07 AM. |

Re: 99 Grand Marquis (crown Vic): Fog / Condenstation INSIDE Headlight Lens
Since the time of my original posting, I've learneded how to read, and found that I had been overanalyzing/misreading what was otherwise an extremely simple diagram, in my FSM.
CONCLUSION: Rubber elbow-vent on back of housing was clogged w/ dirt (from some form of vermin, no-doubt!) ________ Arthritis Forums Last edited by LieutenantCracker; 04-21-2011 at 06:07 AM. |
