Making of C4 Vette ZR-1

Hi,
Started Monogram 1:24 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1(C4).

For me, this is a complete new car model to build after an interval of 1 year and 9 months.
I intend to give this C4 Vette heavy modification.
I hope you enjoy this progress to begin from now.

*overall exterior
It's composed of 4 parts. body, window shield/roof, engine hood and front bumper.

*Engin Hood
Started from engine hood modification.

Opened duct space.

Made duct frames and marked position of fins.

Made fins by strip styrene and put them one by one on the hood.

Applied grey primer.

Back side look.

Re: Making of C4 Vette ZR-1

Looks like you've made a good start. The air ducts look very nice.
What else are you planning on changing?
I'm looking forward to following this thread!

I love what you did to the hood...that adds some more additude to a already aggressive car

The long wait was well worth it

Another astonishing modeling how-to from Kunta-san.
Really looking forward to this build because I have the same model in my to-do-pile. Great inspiration as always, keep it up!

Cheer

Re: Making of C4 Vette ZR-1

*Dummy side ducts
Stock style.

Opened duct area.

Made duct by styrene sheet and polyester putty.
those pics are rough sanding condition.

*Side skirts
Just made base of side skirts.

*Fuel cap

Using Sakatsu 'quick fueler cap'.

It seems stick out from the body but I'll put GT-wing on the body and wing stays will around both side of it.

Looking great. The position of that fuel-cap is intriguing, what are you planing to do?

Re: Making of C4 Vette ZR-1

Very awesome build so far. You did what Chevy should've; taken the almost stock looking ZR-1 and making it stand out.

Re: Making of C4 Vette ZR-1

Update pics.
*Rear under spoiler/side skirts
Made them from 1.0mm and 0.5mm styrene sheet.

It's still rough sanding condition.
