Exclamation Help Help Help!!!! Huge Emergency!!!

I should have known something was up earlier today when my car peed on my foot....

Long story short: I have a 1994 Infiniti G20, and the keys are locked in and the car's running. NO, not my fault, I am NOT THAT STUPID!!!

I am at my parents' house (no spare keys here), and it has been snowing like mad today, earlier it was pouring rain. My desert car is NOT used to that kind of weather, it only sees a drizzle of rain about twice yearly in this climate.

I decided to warm up the car before going home because it is midnight here and FREEZING, so about 1/2 hr ago I started the car up (from leaning in the passenger side, if it matters) and shut the door.

I went to get in later and thought the car was frozen shut, but we looked in with a flashlight and the doors are all locked.

This is doubly impossible. First because the car has an idiot-proof thing where the doors WILL NOT LOCK except with key if there's a key in the ignition. Secondly, the passenger side door (the one I started the car from) is mechanically BROKEN and CANNOT lock unless via key from the outside. IT has NEVER locked via the remote. It has NEVER locked from the inside. But somehow, it is locked, with the keys inside, and the car running.

I have a sunroof if it matters. Don't know if I can hack in that way. Don't know how to shut off the car. If I could just turn it off I could borrow one of my parents' cars and pick mine up in the morning (but I still couldn't get into my house).

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE does anyone have any ideas??? I just put in a fresh tank so there are about 13.5 gallons before it runs out of gas and I just want to go home!!! I have work tomorrow!!!

My mom had that idea, and my dad says don't try it, it'll be bad.

(Can't believe no one's laughing at me yet.) This is the dumbest thing that's ever happened to me.

My guess is, something about all the moisture today short-circuited something in the electrical...

The police are trying to hog-wire the window open..isn't working. Damn these sturdy japanese cars!!!

OK, the police gave up and went home - now a locksmith is on the way. It will be a mere $50 to unlock the door - decent price considering it's 1:30 a.m., freezing cold and snowing, and the gas in the car is worth half that.

Oh, BTW about the car peeing on me, I had my left foot on the dead pedal (yeah, an auto ) and cold water leaked onto my foot, 4 different times. So water has definitely gotten somewhere it's not supposed to.

So thanks, people. Appreciate the help. Go ahead and laugh now.

Glad it sorted itself out Boingo. Maybe an idea to install a remote starter in case it ever happens again. Maybe time to post in my Shitty Day thread.

Thats the problem with new high tech cars you see, anything can happen. An old car would never lock up on you by moisture on central locking or whatever you got, well I hope your ok for work in the morning Boingo, 3AM now isn't it?(Taking a stab in the dark there )

..............alot.

Im surprised it locked you out, Nissans and Honda's are the only Japa cars I know of which have idiot proof door locks which make it almost impossible to lock the keys in the car.

Prehaps your car is trying to tell you something?
