1991 MR2 T-Top

For the most part this was an easy build. For an ancient kit, it was it pretty good condition.

The only things that I changed were the wheels, and I lowered it to rid the wheel gap. I had the mod the hell out of the suspension to get everything to fit right. I was trying to achieve as minimal overhang as possible. I also shaved the wing attachments, and the front license plate mount.

The paint is regular Tamiya acrylic black, polished. The wheels are flat black, with clear red over silver lips.

Great looking car.
The red on the wheels looks great with the black body.

Cool car! Your thread will be a big part for my decision of buying a MR2 model today! (89 AW11, might as well build a replica while I have one in my garage to look at every detail)

Fujimi made a t-top as well as a standard top. Great MR-2!!! It looks terrific and the colors all work well together!! Here's one I build a couple of years ago...

Nice. The paint is out standing. The whole car is very clean.

Yea this kit is super old. It's one from an original series that came out in the early 90's when the first version of MK II MR2 came out. This one was a Fujimi at tonioseven stated. Search ebay, I see them on there a lot.

Thanks for the compliments guys. All my practice and patients are paying off with each model I do.

Nice job, you should cut those ugly exhuast tips off and use some aluminum tubing instead. I like it!

The windshield fit pretty bad in the kit. Never noticed the front bumper.

*whistles* what a looker.

Love it. The stance is great, as are the color choices, and subtle coolness.

I suspect our taste in style is rather congruent.

Great, clean model! I love that car, it's hard to believe they were making it seventeen years ago! I love it. Those wheels are so perfect for it. Great work!
