I HAVE NO GAUGES AT ALL. SOMETIMES ITS FROM THE FIRST TIME I START IT AND SOMETIMES ITS AFTER I SHUT IT OFF TO GO IN A STORE OR SOMETHING.MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. HAD THAT FIXED BUT AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS IT CAME BACK ON. ITS SCARY NOT KNOWING HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING OR IF YOU HAVE GAS. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Re: 97 Grand Voyager Dash Lights

First go to AutoZone or any similar auto parts store and have the codes read for free. The check engine light indicates a fault code has been stored.

Two easy things to try: Smack the dash above the instruments. If they come alive it indicates bad solder joints on the instrument cluster circuit board. There's an easy fix* once you get at the cluster. Second, remove the IOD fuse in the fuse box (PDC) next to the battery. The BCM controls the instruments. Pulling this fuse out for 2-3 minutes will reset the BCM.
