What's up carborated engines out there. I have a old Holley double pumper modle 3310 rated at 750 cfm. It sits on top of a very warm, wild 355 mighty mouse. Its got a semi-aggessive Comp cam (extreme energy)
camshaft with Sportsmans ll Heads So the mighty mouse needs to breath
The engines been blueprinted for a 750cfm. I've had it rebuilt , but it's just not the same as new. It stalls, the idle is irradic the floats wonders up and down . This and that. Pulling over on the side of the road to adjust carb get's old real fast.! You know what i'm sayin?
So I'm in the market for a new double pumper carb. The new Holley Street Advengers look real nice. With the clear sight plugs, and 6% more advertised hp , It sounds like a kick ass carb. And for the price, not to shabby..
The Edlebrock carbs look good on paper, but i've never owned one
A little more price. But the 750 cfm modle that they offer looks like a nock off of a holley.
But i've really been checkin out the Demon Carb line, Oh Yeah. But with an added $200 to $300 On the bill, I'm not sold on that idea.
Then theirs those Carter's I guess they been around for a while. In and Out of popularity. I heard nothin but problems from them . Like Not priming up, And jets sticking up. I don't know. I never used one..

So what's up?? What is the best carb for the money?? Easiest to adjust??? And will work best with my combo It would be cool if they made self metering carbs that require no adjustment. Factory set. No BS

I prefer the carters(edelbrock) just always had good luck with them.

Holleys were difficult to rebuild the power valve's always misbehaved in them, and they burned cars down often due to the float sticking.

Just my opinion, everyone will have a different one.

Believe it or not my favorite is still the Rochester, because when tuned and rebuilt properly offered execptional performance, though they were bad for the butterfly rods wearing out the main housing bushings and ppl overtightning the front holddown bolts and warping the tops, I still like them.

How about predator have you checked them out? I think they handle up to 900cfm and no adjustments are needed, but sometimes you run into hood clearance problems with them.

I am not much of a gearhead these days though, so I am sure things have changed.
