E-fans on 1995 3.1L Lumina

Hello,

I just purchased a 1995 3.1L Lumina w/ about 145K miles.

The driverside fan comes on when the temp. reaches just slightly past halfway in the normal range.

The passenger side fan comes on when the temp. reaches just slightly past the point where the driverside fan turns on....maybe 3/4 of the "normal" temp. range.

It does not matter if the A/C is on or off...the behavior is the same.

Can anyone please tell me if this is normal behavior for the E-fans or should I consider replacing them?

When should the fans normally turn on?

Thanks.

"Normal" ga. reading is between 1/4 &1/2 of total ga. range on most of the Luminas of that vintage. Not normal for fans, check temp. send. units first. Faulty ones could cause that kind of problem.
