TH400 swap to M20 4 speed

I want to swap my TH400 for a muncie 4 speed. I know I will have to change the slip yoke to a 27 spline output but do I have to change my drive shaft and/or crossmember? This is gonna be done on my 70 chevelle ss

SS or SS clone?
If its a true SS, personally, I would leave it auto....
Crossmember will work, the frame has several holes to adjust for almost any combo.
You may want to stock up on driveshafts.

Re: TH400 swap to M20 4 speed

I have done this swap both ways. The four speed shaft is longer by about 2 inches. Don't worry a junk yard power glide or turbo 350 will work and may have the correct yoke. You factory crossmember will work. Just slide it forward the holes should already be drilled in the frame.

Ground up sells a complete swap kit. Pedals and clutch shaft.

Check e-bay for used bell housings. or buy a new blow proof with a new flywheel and clutch.
