I have a 2005 RSX Type-S. Recently I had my oil changed at some local shop in town. I have no freaking clue wtf these morons did, but my only guess is they used a damn air gun to put it back on because it is cemented in there. I have tried everything! Started out with the proper 17mm socket and ratchet then moved to a longer and bigger wrench to get more torque, but nothing. It will not move!!! It is really irritating to say the least. I'm to the point now where I think if I mess with it anymore its going to start rounding out the bolt. Now I thought I read another post here for an Intrigue that said to loosen those drain plugs you had to go the opposite from lefty loosy righty tighty. This is the first time I have changed the oil on this car so maybe I am caught off gaurd. Does anyone have an suggestions? Thanks again in advance!

Re: RSX-S Stuck Oil Drain Plug!
Most plugs loosen cc-wise. I think they probably overtightened the bolt. If it's already stripped, then I would take a rotary tool and etch a deep straight line on the bolt head and use a flat screwdriver to see if that takes it off. If not, drilling the bolt would be the last option. Just make sure not to drill on the threads.
Here's something I found at sears - http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...seBVCookie=Yes

I agree with that one. See if they will remove it for you. |
