4T65-E Pressure Control Solenoid fix
I have the 4T65-e problem of tranny working fine until I hit about 15 miles and hard shifting starts and it starts to make grinding type sounds. Shut it off and it goes away and thens returns. From what I read in these forums I'll need to fix PCS. I have replaced the TCC in a 125C tranny in an 89 Celebrity and I'm wondering if its the same type of procedure. Side panel? I can't seem to find much about the replacement. Can anybody enlighten me? Thanks Its for a 2000 Lumina

Re: 4T65-E Pressure Control Solenoid fix
Side cover must come off, which means the axle comes out, you may have to drop the subframe for better access also. I'd do a scan to confirm the appropriate code is pending or set that corresponds to the pcs issue.

Re: 4T65-E Pressure Control Solenoid fix
Tranny shop didn't think the problem is with solenoid but would fix P1811 problem by "adding metal" to something in the tranny. Its a $1400.00 fix, but the car runs fine for around town runs. Gonna try a external cooler and maybe wire up one cooling fan to keep temps down. Thanks
