95 2500 HD 3/4 4x4 pitman arm removal

I need to know how to remove the pitman arm from the steering box..the frame is in the way to use a puller. Should I remove the steering box to get to it?

Yes If you can not tap it off.
Why are you taking it off?

The joint that connects to the centerlink and the idler arm are loose they need to be changed to keep my front end from shaking

Yes,the steering box has to unbolted to get the pitman arm off and it is the only way to do it.Get the Moog for a replacement pitman arm,has a lifetime warranty which Moog pays for the labor with no problems at all
