Exclamation Opening Tailgate on 96 Range Rover?

Ok Im new to this thread to start off with and this 1996 Range Rover isnt mine. Its a family members vehicle. But I tried using the tailgate today to get to the back on the Range Rover and it was a NO GO. Ive tried the button and nothing. I asked the family member that owns the Range Rover and they said its never broked since they've had it. So, again how do you get it open? Even if I need to replace something in the door to make it open, how can I get it open to even do that?

Re: Opening Tailgate on 96 Range Rover?

I had the exact same problem on my brother's 96 RR and posted a plea for help several weeks ago! A friend had tried taking it everywhere and nobody could get it open. We finally took it to a place called Presidential Conversions and they were able to open it. I don't know how they did it, but maybe you can call them for advice. 888-521-7733
