97 Cadillac Steering Problems
Have steering problems. At times steering is very hard, then acts like something breaks loose. Is there a repair or does the steering box have to be replaced? Thanks

Re: 97 Cadillac Steering Problems
There is no way to diagnose this in this environment, as stated a p/s pump pressure test should be performed and also the steering should be inspected for any binding components, belt and tensioner checked for possible slippage.

Re: 97 Cadillac Steering Problems
Back to the steering problem. At idle is when the problem occurs, at higher RPM's the steering is better. I don't have a tester, can they be rented and if so where would I look. What should the pressure be? Thanks Roy

Re: 97 Cadillac Steering Problems
A pump pressure tester set up cost over a 100.00, I would suggest you get a pro to help you with this.
