ls nonvtec into lsvtec

My buddy has a ls non vtec motor and i mentioned to him swapping the head into a vtec head and he wanted to know what good it would do him besides having vtec?

you get more horsepower, a freer flowing head, and better throttle respons also.

tell me when he blows his engine. lsvtecs can turn deadly pretty fast. unless it is built right. revving the ls block higher than 7k, well the block gets oil starvation or lack of oil. usually stock ls blocks, revved up to 8k, last maybe 6 months then something breaks

this is all from what i hear

well when it doesnt get oil that probably means you didnt route the oil to the head which you have to thread a space your self but the vtec heads have good high end but there are some other mods you have to do when changing the head like routing oil. finding place for knock sensor thread bigger whole in the head if you get a B16 n e way but over all its a good mod
