Remote entry

1995 Aurora Remote entry fails
Keys were in pocket and I got wet while surf fishing...
It worked last night coming home but this morning it fails to open doors or trunk..
I checked batteries,, 3 volts each... Did I short out the unit??
How can I check that out and if so, other than a dealer where can I find a new remote entry device...
What has to be done to the unit to tune it to my car..
Thanks

Re: Remote entry

Yes, it's pretty well toast, if it was submerged in water. Typically you can find them on the internet, but beware, they may not work properly for your vehicle. I would only trust one from a dealer and yes, they can be programmed to your vehicle. A new remote will come with instructions on how to program the new one to your car.

Did it work because you purchased a new one or did it work because you were able to reprogram the one that got wet?

Where (on-line) would you recomend buying a new/used remote for

Re: Remote entry

On the back of the remote there is a number about 8 digits long.
Mine is 25678792.
Type that number into a search on ebay and normally a lot of them will come up.

Re: Remote entry

OK, how about this one. I ordered a key Faub from ikeywireless, eveything on their end was good. I tried jumping my dlc or what ever its called. I jumped 4 & 8, the doors cycled through a lock cycle, which was supposed to happen, then right after my lights started going haywire and clicking. Now, my dash does not work and every time I put my key in the ignition my interior lights go off. Any ideas? There was some clicking in one of the modules under my back seat but didnt know how to proceed so I left it alone... someone help! Thanks

Re: Remote entry

Make sure you are not pressing the brake pedal at all during the procedure as it will interfere with programming mode.

Also, some customers report success programming with the driver's door open - where others report success with all doors closed.
