2003 Cavalier LS Sport
Hi,
I don' know if this is the right place to post this, but I need some advice. I traded in a 97 Cavalier with only 30,000 miles for a 99 Taurus with 68,000 miles. I wanted something bigger, but now I'm kicking myself because of gas prices, even though prices are going down a little. The Cavalier was a great car, but it was a base model and I wanted power locks and windows. So, I bought the Taurus. Now I'm really regretting trading in that Cavalier. But, I am not getting rid of the Taurus, I'm giving it to my father as his car is on its last legs. So, I took a look at a 2003 Cavalier LS Sport coupe with 46,000 miles. It's at a dealer, and it's in pretty nice shape. The only things I noticed are that the air intake is missing (someone cut the hose and removed the factory assembly where the filter goes), maybe there was an aftermarket one on there at one point? All that's there now is a cut hose, no filter. Also, the power window switch is missing, and the steering wheel is way off. It drives straight and doesn't pull, but to go straight the wheel is off to the left by alot. I think someone aligned it with the steering wheel in the wrong position. Anyway, the car is advertised for $7495, and the guy says that they will fix everything that is wrong with the car before I take delivery of it. It also comes with a 60 day 2500 mile warranty. I asked if the guy would take $7000, and he seemed like he would. I am new to car buying. The Taurus was the first car I bought, as the 97 Cavalier was a gift. I still can't get over how stupid I was to get rid of it. Anyway, do you think I can get the guy to go any lower than $7000? Kelley Blue Book says it's worth $8200, but I feel like it should be priced in the low to mid $6000's. I'm only 18, so if anyone has any advice to give, I'd really appreciate it. I like the Taurus, but I commute 50 miles daily and it would be a much cheaper commute with a Cavalier. |

Re: 2003 Cavalier LS Sport
My sunfire Se loaded minus sunroof had 46K miles 5 speed, alloys, and it was stickered for $7999. I think thats about ball park honestly. Especially if its an auto. Sunfires always tag higher.
