Good signs for SUV and Truck Customers

According to an article on MSNBC.com, more people are back buying SUVs and pickup trucks again. After the year of smaller cars and fuel-efficient vehicles, the trend is going back to SUVs and pickup trucks. In September, the automotive market fell apart for most, but not for SUVs or pickup trucks. They "held steady," which is great under the circumstances. Since the gas prices continue to fall, the sales have gone up for these guys. Also, an added bonus for these customers is the incentives that are being offered are awesome. Who knows, before we know it, customers may be back to their old selves and buying big again. If the gas prices continue to drop and people think they will stay that way, the trend for bigger vehicles will probably continue again. We'll have to wait and see.......

the trend has been to smaller more mpg vehicles.the car lots in my area are jammed with gas guzzlers...with the price of gas droping to the 1.25/1.50 dollar /gallon range this will aid many a car dealer to unload his bloated inventor of these gas hogs..

this month OPEC is set to cut production big time ...then the smart person will be ready for the gas price surge to 4-6.oo/gallon..while the gas guzzler owner will have to look at his vehicle sitting in the parking lot..

Bad News though if your in the UK. According to figures Truck and van registrations are down by 50% year on year! The Largest Trailer manufacturer just posted reports that orders had fell by 92% year on year! Not looking good for new sales but good news for the automotive aftermarket!

You should move to the UK. Our fuel is around $10 a gallon. Not good!

Re: Good signs for SUV and Truck Customers

With GM, a big producer of these gas guzzling SUVs and trucks going through bankruptcy and coming out a smaller company run by the government, the trend towards higher sales of these type of vehicles should decrease once more and possibly stay that way. Add to that the price of oil and gas is up again expecting to near $3 a gallon that should be another nail in the proverbial coffin.
