No Stop Lights
I have not stop lights on my 1997 Bravada. The third high center stop light works but the regular stop lights, the hazard flasher don't work. the wiring diagram I have shows a multifunction control module with a fuse coming out to each of the stop lights. All fuses in the regular fuse block are good. Anyone have any suggestions as to where these two fuses may be located or what else may be the problem The fact that the third stop light works verifies that the brake swtich works.
Thanks, Ralph

Re: No Stop Lights
I believe the 3rd stoplight is on a different circuit and brakelight switch.
Have you checked the brakelight switch at the brakepedal arm? I think there are 2 buttons sticking out with one button going to a double acting switch....one normally open to the brakelight and one normally closed going to the cruise control. With the brake pedal pushed down, I reach up to the switch buttons and depress them with a long thin screw driver then "side step" the screw driver so the buttons snap back into position to make a better contact to close the brakelight circuit. |

Re: No Stop Lights
could also be as simple as both bulbs burned out and nobody told you until the last one went out. belevieve it, it happened to me.

Re: No Stop Lights
Here's something from tg5398 back in 2006
"I had the rear lights going on and off. Found the ground wire to the frame back there was broke or corroded. It fastens to the frame on the inside of the truck frame. Left side underneath. Looking at it from the back. " |

Turns out the problem is in the switch in the steering column. Instead of replacing the switch, I was able to take it apart and clean some of the contact and reassemble it. This switch also controls the wipers and I got it back together one click off on the wipers, but it is no big deal.
