No thrird brake and reverse lights
2001 Taurus wagon. Inoperative third brake and reverse lights. Both are located in the rear deck lid. Changed out the bulbs with no improvement. Any suggestions. Thanks.

First inspect the grounds for the bulb sockets. That is probably common to both light sets. Next would be to release the rubber boot for the wires, where they go between the hinge for the body of the wagon and the liftgate, both ends. It's not all that uncommon for wires to break at these locations where they bend when the liftgate is opened and closed.
