'98 Blazer - fuel line leak

You folks have helped me out greatly on several previous occasions, I hope you can do it again. On my '98 Blazer 4.3, 4WD, 2 dr., 5 speed, the fuel lines are rotting (and leaking) just before the connectors to the short fuel pump lines near the upper rear shock mount. The lines are too bad near the end to save the connectors and splice in some new lines with steel splices. I have the feeling I'm in deep stuff!

Are there any after market kits available that would let me make up some fuel lines and terminate them with the proper connectors? I did some google searches and came up empty. Any input will be appreciated.

Yes, there is a kit made by Dorman that includes plastic fuel line and any connectors you would need. It is not cheep, but can be a lifesaver. They run about $150.00 on Ebay or over $300 from places like NAPA. If you aren't afraid of spending the $$$ this is a very easy fix.

This part will repair the steel line. It has the special fitting on one end and a compression fitting on the other. This is the fuel pressure line: http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...goryCode=3120B

Check the diameter of the leaky line:
3/8" is fuel pressure line: Dorman part # 800-153
5/16" is fuel return line: Dorman part # 800-151

Thanks fot the input guys. I ended up buying the Dorman fuel line repair kit on Ebay for $79.00. (good deal)

The rotted steel pipe was terminated with the "quick disconnect" type (bead) end to accomodate the plastic fittings. I bought a couple double bead (two ended) 12" steel fuel line sections, cut one end off and plumbed them in with steel couplings after the bad section was cut off. I then made up a couple of nylon lines (3/8" & 5/16") to replace the old nylon lines. Had to make them about 3" longer than the old ones and the kit worked out fine. Reapair successful.

Backed it out of the garage, got half way down the driveway and blew a brake line. So what's new.
