intake manifold question=
ok. i did it again. i can,t get enough of a 3.1 litre. this time it,s a 1996 cutlass supreme with about 55,000 miles. only thing i,m noticing is a small oil leak very close to the spot where the plug is for distributor shaft. what,s the chance it,s only that plug? my friendly mechanic managed to fix one on another one of my cars . it wasn,t easy, but he did it.

Re: intake manifold question=
As long as they have an oil pump drive setup like they do they will continue to leak. You'd think that after nearly twenty years of using these oil pump drives they could figure out how to seal them up!!!

Re: intake manifold question=
If a new O ring is used on the top of the shaft, it shouldnt start leaking agian unless its the wrong O ring.
![]() ps- it is a common leak area, along with the lover intake right there.

Re: intake manifold question=
thanks for the reply guys. do you replace the o-ring with the same stock size from the dealer? last time i think the mechanic gave it a shot of high temp silicone and maybe a new o-ring.

I usualy put the old O ring at the top and use a little high temp sealant and pound it in, bolt it down ... shouldnt leak for a long time.
