My silverado makes a LOUD clunking nose from the back. When drivng it makes a sudden stop. I dont know what it is, I asked a few people and they said it was the rear axle? If so what part or how would I fix it. Need help fast, I use this truck for work everyday! Thanks.

Quote:
with both rear wheels off the ground check for the axle U joints for wear and throwing grease also after driving these joints when bad will get hot... check that the pinion flange is not worn with lateral movement...this where the axle enters the rear diff... then open the rear diff and inspect for metal debris and oil condition... |
