98 ZJ, I6, 42RE Transmission NEED HELP???

so I found a transmission in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the I6 motor, quadratrac, 4 wheel drive and transmission code 42RE, I need to know if it will go in to my 98 with the I6, quadratrac and 42RE with the a bad tranny? If some of the modules/controllers are different can I swap them from my old transmission. If someone ask the symptoms of my transmission before it went out was when it first started in the morning it would wine really bad and even worse when u put into reverse but once you started driving it in forward gears the sound would quiet, it would also rev really high when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd like it was slipping before it totally stopped working. The transmission filter was changed recently and it has fresh fluid at the right level. Thanks for any help you can give!!!

Yes the transmission for the 01 will work.

Thanx for the reply dksob81, are you sure? I talked to a salvage yard today and they said it is 98 only for the transmission?

I don't see why it would matter. But let me double check.
