radiator replacement tank

I have a 99 aurora and one of the plastic tanks on the side of the radiator is cracked. I''ve read on one auto forum that these tanks are easily replaced. SO does anyone know where I could order one online and can I relace it myself.......Thanks

Re: radiator replacement tank

i think you need to replace the radiator. Rad shops used to do rebuilds...but I dont think thats really popular anymore.

Re: radiator replacement tank

I had a crack in the plastic tank of my radiator as well. Luckily, the crack was in an area I could easily access. I cleaned the area extremely well then tried epoxy, which held for a few weeks but ultimately failed. I found someone in FL on ebay who sold OEM tanks for about the same price as a replacement that lacked a recognizable name (to me anyway). I agree with the previous post that replacing only the plastic part of the radiator is likely not possible and that a total replacement of the radiator is in order.

Good luck!

Radiatorbarn.com Excellent prices, free shipping and great customer service. I bought a radiator for my '95 from them.
