problem with my 2000 s10
a couple of weeks ago my son left the dome light on in my s10, no big deal, I threw the charger on over night and the next day it started fine, drove it around etc. and than a week later it was parked out side and my wife tells me that the lights are on, so when I get up to check it I don't see anything , go out side and open the door and the dome light comes on, everything is normal... next day I try to start it and it tries to run for a sec and than turns off after a few a ties it starts but now the dash board is blinking and clicking, the security light is on and and the interior dome lights are not working, it will drive but even the day time running lights are blinking ... please any suggestions or help would be appreciated

Factory or add on anti theft and or remote start stuff?
You need to get a body computer capable scanner on it and check it out. Should have some body codes someplace in there, Post back any codes.

Re: problem with my 2000 s10
yes it has a remote start, and the weird thing is that a couple of times when it would not start with the key cause it would get locked out with the vats the remote starter would start it... where would i get a body capable scanner is that the same scanner that an auto zone or pep boys would use if i brought it there... thanks for your help

Pep boys and AZ only have OBD11 code scanners. For the good body body and anti theft scanners you need to find a dealer or good repair shop. Unless you want to invest 3 -5 grand on the full capable scanner. For a one time deal/scan go to the repair shop. Good Luck

Re: problem with my 2000 s10
If a add on I would start with removing it and put the wiring back to OEM and then see what it does.
Clear codes and. If it still acts up then a body capable scanner is requires to test and check it out. If any body /anti theft codes past present or history post back code no. Good luck
