Signal & Brake Lights
My 1999 Cougar has no signal lights, brakes lights, or Cruise. All fuses are fine. I think it might be a relay??? Any suggestions. My parks lights and driving lights work, so do the headlights.

Re: Signal & Brake Lights
I'm not sure but I would check the connections for the multifunction switch.
Look up under the dash for a fuse panel you might have missed. |

Re: Signal & Brake Lights
Fuse number 23 under the dash powers the turn signals
Fuse number 24 under the dash powers the stop lamps and cruise control. If those are good, you need to look to see if there is current going to each switch. Might be a wiring problem. Good luck.

Re: Signal & Brake Lights
Welcome to the forum brenda1971 (a very good year!). Did you start to have problems with these all at the same time? I don't have a wiring diagram for a 1999 but the circuits all go into the steering column. As rhandwor says, it may be a connector in the steering column so I would check to make sure every one is clean and tight. Do the horn and hazard flashers work? What I don't know is if the wires for the cruise control go through the same connector as the one for the multifunction switch. Are you positive the fuses are ok? Check the ones that way2old spoke of and be sure there is 12V on both sides of the fuses.
